Sony Corp. has today announced a new LCD panel type which it says is intended for use in digital cameras and smartphones, dubbed "WhiteMagic". The new Sony WhiteMagic panel is said to have benefits over existing types in terms of both outdoor visibility, and indoor power consumption, as compared to LCDs featuring red, green, and blue subpixels.
