Japan's Ricoh Co. Ltd. has today announced new firmware for two of its fixed-lens camera models, the Ricoh GR Digital IV and Ricoh CX6. Ricoh GR Digital v1.17 firmware includes four main changes. With the flash strobe set to Auto, images shot under backlit conditions should yield better results. The optional AF distance display now stops at the position of focus lock while the shutter button is half-pressed, and the GRD IV can now capture an image without waiting for the image stabilizer function to be ready for use, at shutter speeds below one second in Program or Priority modes....
