Panasonic has today announced its new CCD-based long-zoomLumix FZ40 digital camera. The Panasonic Lumix FZ40 couples a 1/2.33-inch CCD image sensor with 14.1 megapixel resolution with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit-branded 24x optical zoom lens. The FZ40's lens has a useful 25mm wide angle, and a maximum aperture of f/2.8 to f/5.2 across the zoom range, as well as Power O.I.S. image stabilization.
