Nikon has today announced four new cameras for its style-conscious Coolpix S-series - the Nikon Coolpix S3000, Nikon Coolpix S4000, Nikon Coolpix S6000 and Nikon Coolpix S8000. The sensor in the Coolpix S3000 yields an effective resolution of twelve megapixels, and sits behind a 4x optical zoom lens with a useful 27mm wide angle. The Nikon S3000 doesn't include any form of mechanical image stabilization, instead relying on software techniques to combat blur from camera shake.
