Nikon announces Coolpix P100

The Nikon Coolpix P100 is the company's first camera to be based around a backside illuminated CMOS image sensor. The sensor in the Coolpix P100 yields an effective resolution of ten megapixels, and sits behind a 26x optical zoom lens with a generous 26mm wide angle. Importantly, given the reach of the zoom lens, the Coolpix P100 does include true mechanical image stabilization.
