Lytro preps plenoptic camera for 2012 debut

The world's first plenoptic camera aimed at consumer use is only months away from availability in the US market, according to a press release issued by its manufacturer, Lytro Inc. Plenoptic cameras--sometimes known as light-field cameras--have a couple of main advantages over their traditional digital camera brethren.
