Japan's Canon Inc. is preparing a firmware update for its EOS-1D Mark IV digital SLR, according to documents on the company's support websites. The updated EOS-1D Mk IV firmware is said to improve performance of the camera's autofocus tracking function, both for receding subjects and those that are approaching the camera at low speed. Both Canon USA and Canon Europe have published advisories predicting that the updated firmware will be available for download later this month.
